If you have reached a mid to high age like me, you maybe sometimes get the desire to jump back in time, since all things “obviously” were just way better in the old days.
One thing I remember and sometimes miss from my youth is the fun computer games I grew up with. Do you remember Amiga, Atari, Commodore 64, Sega, Nintendo, and all the other platforms?
If you do, you probably know the desire to play some games of the old platforms with titles like Balloon Fight, Bubble Bobble, Pac-man, Mega Man 2, Castlevania, Castlevania II, Simon’s Quest, Donkey Kong, Donkey Kong Jr, Double Dragon II: The Revenge, Dr. Mario, Excitebike, Galaga and some of my personal favorites such as Final Fantasy, The Legend of Zelda, Zelda II: The Adventure of Link, Super Mario Bros, Super Mario Bros. 2, Super Mario Bros. 3 and many of the other great games from the early consoles.
This desire from people lead Nintendo to relaunch the Classic Nintendo (NES) and boy did they underestimate the demand for the new mini console.
The NES launched in late 2016 and instantly it became a hit and sold out from stores, people were lining up to get their hands on the next shipment of the product. See the Nintendo Classic on Amazon here
This success made Nintendo decide to also relaunch a classic mini version of the Super Nintendo (SNES) in late 2017 and again the demand was high resulting in the in prizes higher than the originally released products.

So, the classic games are becoming increasingly sought after.
Recently, Sony itself succumbed when they announced 19th September 2018 that they would release the original PlayStation in a mini version on December 3, 2018. The so-called PlayStation Classic.
The release date is December 3th 2018 exactly 24 years after the original was released and although it will not hit the stores until December, it is already in high demand.
So, the future has finally caught up with the past. Meaning that it`s now possible to play these old Classics again, and personally, I am very glad that these companies decided to relaunch their popular old products in new skins.
In a later post, we gonna take a look on how to play the real classic games without having to buy an old 80 and 90´s gaming console.
